CAR/W is called upon to support statewide efforts related to literacy. Key CAR/W personnel served on the SB488 CTC Literacy Workgroup to help draft and revise the new literacy standards.


CAR/W played a significant role in the development of the "English Language Arts/English Language Development Framework for California Public Schools." Learn More About the Framework​

The CAR/W Co-Directors were part of the California Teaching Commission's workgroup to draft and revise the state's new literacy standards in 2022, including for the PK-3 Education Specialist Credential.
